reading now: Farm Girl

Farm Girl is a true account of Lucille Marker's childhood in 1920's in rural Nebraska, the Dust Bowl of the American West.  The author collected the stories from her mother, Lucille Marker, from a series of first hand oral narratives.  Hearing Lucille's voice and her wandering insertion of details and characters is magic.  The stories read like listening to your grandmother talking.
