add water for instant fun

After the late group finished practice on Friday the whole team and a few other gymnasts coached by coach Wendy raced over to "retired from us" coach Wendy's for a good-bye pool party. It was a nice little way for all of us to say thank you for everything she has done for our little giants.
Still at the helm watching her girls.
Did you know if you add water to a gymnast she turns into a cheerleader?
Oh, did she hear me say that?
After the party Boo told me how much fun she had. Part of it she said was her heels and knees didn't hurt, she wasn't worried about what she did or didn't do. "I just let everything go." These are truly amazing kids.
Here comes trouble! A little gym brother.
Funny how the little ones make the biggest splashes

Of course it isn't a party without a few ninja wars

Thanks to coach Wendy and the B family for hosting all of us!

Animals Inside Out

Amazing field trip today to The Leonardo to see the Animals Inside Out exhibit.

"Explore the intricate biology, zoology and physiology of the world’s most spectacular creatures, large and small in this fascinating new exhibition by BODY WORLDS creator, anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens. ANIMAL INSIDE OUT takes visitors on an anatomical safari of more than 100 specimens. Each animal is painstakingly preserved by the remarkable process of Plastination, invented by Dr. von Hagens. From goats to giraffes, elephants to eels and octopuses to ostriches visitors will discover the form and function of animals both exotic and familiar. Animal biology textbooks spring to life in this unforgettable museum learning experience."
It was pretty intense. At first Boo was talkative, comfortably using comparative morphology but as the animals got larger she grew exceptionally quiet.
I felt the need to remind her that none of the animals were harmed in the creation of the exhibit. It was amazing but as I said intense. I think the look on her face pretty much says it all.
