State Meet 2012
So there is Boo 3rd in line GTC.
And there she is poor thing, first on the first event: Beam. We are pretty sure she has never had the pleasure (pressure) of going first before but she did great.
Fish series
Cartwheel
Handstand
Leap
Arabesque
Dismount!!! I love this picture look at her coach leaning into the twist with Boo.
Floor warm up beside her best buddy (Best Buddy on the left Boo on the right).
Straddle Jump on floor
Dive Roll
Rumor has it the dive roll is being taken out of the routines as of 2013 because as you can see it is dangerous. This season one of Boo's own teammates (trained ninja the Wild One) broke her arm in a dive roll in practice.
Front Hand Spring rebound

Dismount
The Team took a might 2nd by 2 t's of a point!!!
Boo took 2nd in the All Around and her Best Buddy took 1st!
[There was vaulting it was too hard to take pic's off]
Hotel Bed Dive Rolls & Leaps
Perfect 10's!!!
Most of these photos were taken by Jason Grow, thanks Jason!
Thanks to all my good friends & family who are so supportive of Little Boo. It means a lot to her when someone takes the time to 'like' a pic or make comments to her, she reads and enjoys every last one!

up and over
This is 4 yr old Boo...
and this is 9 yr old Boo.
On Friday night her and her teammates will be competing in the Level 5 State Meet in Ogden Utah. They are going in undefeated and will compete against a another team who is also undefeated. State will decide who gets to keep that title.
They have all worked hard to get here and we wish each one of them pulls off a meet of a little life time.
State, for all its hype is nothing more than another meet, the last in-state meet of the season.
I don't know how Boo will do.
(In the gym she is looking amazing!!!)
What I do know is how far she has come.
From that scared half blind 4 yr old nervous to be sitting in a tree...
to this young lady.
This kid can almost fly!
Friday not will not be about scores or medals it will be about Ability beating Disability.

maple syrup taffy
How To Make Maple Syrup Taffy On Snow
Gather clean fresh snow and pack it into a bowl or pie tin and leave outside to keep it cold. Pour a half cup of real maple syrup into a small saucepan. Bring the syrup to a boil over medium-high heat. If you have a candy thermometer remove from heat when it reaches 235°F. If not you can use a glass of cold water to test when it is ready, removing from heat when it reaches the soft ball stage. Immediately drizzle it over the packed snow. Let the syrup cool for just a minute or two, then pick it up with a toothpick and eat! (Watch your teeth it is very stick!) Friday, November 9, 2012
reading now: The Woman In Black
When I came across this book in the library I got it for myself. Three chapters in I realized I had seen this somewhere before...in 1989 there was a TV adaption of this book!
The writing was too good to stop besides I didn't see the whole thing and it was a long time ago.
Now, I read a lot because I love to but I am also aware of the example it sets for child. Last night when I was reading wanting to encourage Boo to read to herself I didn't offer to read to her I simply keep on reading my book. After awhile she asked me to read her a sentence so I did. A while later she requested another and with that she gathered some of the plot and setting. Seeming genuinely interested I read her a few pages giving her more background when needed.
It is safe to say WE are now reading this classic chilling tale together! And when I went looking for a cover pic to use I found the 2012 Movie with none other than Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter!). We might have a scary movie to watch together too.

easy pieces of a home school sort of life
It is 9:45 am the dishwasher is humming, floors clean, laundry done, the Today board full with things like 6 ways to make 6, a sunny weather square, to do's such as vote, library, pm swim, and already three out of six subjects checked off. Best of all my child is in her room on her bed reading quietly to herself.
I love the life we have made here...
