early European Exploration brown bag pocket notebook

Using brown paper lunch bags we created a pocket notebook to keep track of some of the major early European expeditions and exploration.  We aren’t all the way done.  There is lots of room to add notes.
Boo especially likes how the pockets allow her to quiz herself.
Pretty simple and super fun!

We created the pockets by folding 5 lunch bags into a book, stapling in the middle then snipping off all the ends.  It gave us 10 pockets to slip hidden information in that easily is pulled out to view.  The smaller cascade pockets (above) are done by staggering the end cuts of the bag.
Certainly a flip style notebook we will use again and again!

  1. I love this, what a great idea!

  2. That's neat. It looks a bit like a lapbook. Thanks for linking with Hobbies and Handicrafts.
