reading now: The Hundred Dresses

The Hundred Dresses [Book]

First published in 1944, A hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes is an outstanding story about compassion and understanding.  Wanda Petronski, is an immigrant girl in an American school, who is ridiculed for wearing the same faded blue dress every day. When she tells her classmates she has one hundred dresses at home it triggers a game of teasing eventually ending in a life lesson for all.
A quick beautiful read with amazing illustrations and an unforgettable message.
